SQL Database Developer - Permanent - London

Our client, a World Leading Video Games Developer is seeking to hire an experienced SQL Database Developer to be based at their offices in West London.

The role is focused mainly on Microsoft database development and will also include basic database administration. Requirements analysis and liaising with key business users will also play a key part in the role.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Requirements analysis for database dependent projects.
* Developing Microsoft SQL Server databases.
* Developing database administration policies to support live operations for projects including back-up and recovery procedures.
* Installation and configuration of Microsoft SQL Server.
* Follow best work practices provided by the internal IT team.
* Provide detailed documentation regarding all aspects of database-related projects.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

* Strong understanding in installing and configuring Microsoft SQL Server 2008/2008R2 for optimum performance and resiliency.
* Strong experience in the following areas (minimum 5 years):

o T-SQL.
o Database Design.
o Datamodelling.
o Integration Services (SSIS).

* Experience in the following areas:

o Reporting Services (SSRS).
o MySQL v5 onwards.
o Data Integration.
o Data Cleansing.
o Database Performance Tuning.

* Basic experience in the following areas:

o Microsoft Web Technology (ASP,C#).
* Ability to source-control and document development work in an appropriate corporate manner.
* Excellent communication skills when dealing with all areas of a business.
* Ability to work well within a team.
* Ability to work efficiently under pressure.
* Ability to prioritise tasks based on variety of factors.
* Identify potential issues and resolve in a proactive manner.
