Great opportunity to a Sales Director working within the Distribution Channel.
The Canon Consumer Imaging Group (CIG) Channel Director - Distribution is responsible for developing and building effective relationships at all levels and pro-actively managing sales performance within the defined Distribution Accounts across the UK. Performance results will be achieved through the effective management of the team and development of account managers and their capability to sell Canon. The Channel Director must proactively strive to deliver on the CIG UK short and mid term strategic goals.
The main contacts are the CIG UK Senior Managers, the European Distribution Channel Manager, Canon UK Key Account Managers, Corporate and International Retail Account Directors, Retail Channel Manager, Key Account Managers, Customers (at Trading/Purchasing Director Level), Marketing and Administration Managers and Team Leaders.
Responsibilities and Tasks:
Financial Management - sound understanding of basic financial principles (e.g. P&L, Balance sheet), ROI by customer, tracking expenses, adherence to internal processes and legal compliance.
Coaching and ongoing performance management and development of team members.
Key Account Management - focus on sell out using strategic account management approach focussed on medium - long term growth plans. Consistent application of European Account planning tool.
Planning (Performance improvement)
Monitoring of sales KPI's (sell in, sell out and forecasting accuracy)

Required Skills and Qualifications:
The ability to demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of the durable goods/consumer electronics market place is essential.
For this role, the successful candidates will need to demonstrate an indepth knowledge of the distribution sector and durable goods and consumer electronics market place.
The ideal candidate will have a strong proven track record in management and particularly of managing sales people who are working remotely. A clear interest in managing and motivating others is essential.
You must have a demonstrable sales record with an emphasis on delivering results through others.
The ability to work in a matrix environment and experience of operating within a pan European environment is important. Please note this position has dotted line reporting into the European Channel Director for Specialist Retail accounts.
You should have a strong customer focus and account management skills, with a clear understanding of sales in and sales out and have strong negotiation and business planning skills with a clear track record of delivery.
