Our client is a well respected body.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Director Regulatory Affairs (Financial Services) with a bank. The suitable candidate will be responsible for providing a regular view and guidance on regulatory matters relating to recovery and resolution. To work with internal regulatory teams and authorities to gain support and buy-in from authorities and relevant organisations (eg. FSA, FDIC) The Assistant Director should provide a forward thinking steer on recovery and resolutions matters to ensure the RRP programme and any other related activities/projects satisfy the authorities.

Key Accountabilities
* Provide direction and insight into the UK, USA and EU thinking and regulations/legislations on recovery and resolution
* Provide regular written updates and summary papers on relevant matters and activities
* Ensure any activities are delivered on time, on budget and meets stakeholder expectations
* Design mitigating actions to deal with identified issues.
* Work with programme director and project managers to ensure effective project oversight and up-to-date thinking on recovery and resolution
* Manage relationship and activities with internal teams and authorities for expected updates and documents on the activities/progress of recovery and resolution
* Provide regular steers and insight into next generation thinking on recovery and resolution
* Produce strategic papers to guide senior management on recovery and resolution thinking, regulation/legislations
* Work with the project teams to develop and firm Committee/Board papers and provide insight into recovery and regulation thinking/activities

My client is looking for:
* Understanding of financial markets and an appreciation of the broader political and regulatory environment in which banks operate
* Experience of working in public policy, either in a bank or financial sector company, relevant trade body, consultancy, or relevant Government department
* Experience in relationship building with regulatory authorities
* Proven experience in creating powerful executive reporting materials for use in presentations to senior management and executives.
* Experience of working in a changing regulatory environment and ability to adapt
* Proven experience of external regulatory developments as they relate to risk management.
* Ability to carry out analysis and research and prepare concise and well-reasoned findings, which offer commercial alternatives and sound judgment.
* Influencing and relationship management skills that demonstrate ability to balance and manage diverse stakeholder interest
* Politically astute and able to understand the dynamics of large, complex organisations
* It would be desirable to have recovery and resolution experience, preferably within the global financial services industry

Where specific UK qualifications are required we will take into account overseas equivalents.
