PROBATION SERVICE OFFICERS

Location: Throughout the Lancashire Area
Hours: 37 hours per week
Salary: Band 3 (starting salary £21,607, rising to £27,102)

This is an exciting opportunity to pursue a career in the Probation Service, working in a challenging but supportive environment. Lancashire Probation Trust provides effective offender management through the assessment of need and the delivery of proven interventions to reduce re-offending and the risk of harm to the public.

Probation Service Officers carry out a range of tasks including case management of low and medium risk offenders and services to the Courts, as well as working with groups of offenders. We currently have opportunities to train as PSOs at various locations in Lancashire.

You will need to demonstrate good communication skills, an ability to work with offenders with challenging behaviour and multiple problems, a high level of initiative and personal commitment, and the ability to use a range of office equipment and computer based systems to support your work. A flexible approach to working hours is essential as some evening work will be required.

Within 12 months of appointment, successful candidates will be expected to have achieved the Level 3 Diploma in Probation Practice

Shortlisted applicants will be expected to complete a full assessment centre.
