Airborne Delivery Lead Engineer

Our client is one of the largest and most respected UK science and technology consultancies working closely with the MOD and other defence organizations. They are currently looking for an Airborne Delivery (AD) Lead Engineer to work on aerial delivery and personnel parachuting assessments within their Air Division business area. The AD team is based at RAF Brize Norton and Boscombe Down and a willingness to work at RAF Brize Norton is highly desirable.
The Airborne Delivery (AD) Lead Engineer will be expected to -
Work on aerial delivery and personnel parachuting assessments which involves the test and evaluation leading to the provision of advice on airworthiness and safe, effective use of military AD systems, activities and capabilities
Undertake regular flight trials to assess the equipment, systems, drills and procedures required to airdrop stores, boats and personnel
The successful Airborne Delivery (AD) Lead Engineer will have the following skills, knowledge and experience -
Knowledge in the field of aerial delivery or personnel parachuting
The ability to work and lead mixed civil and military teams.
Be qualified to degree level with respect to Engineering as applied to the dynamics of objects falling in air and the forces and stresses associated with restraining, releasing and dropping equipment and personnel. Alternatively applicants with relevant professional experience will be considered
