A company based in Ayrshire is seeking a Business Development Manager to join their expanding team. Specialising in the provision of Gas appliances, Gas installation, Gas repair services and Plumbing work, the company has built up an impressive reputation and customer portfolio over the last 17 years and has seen significant growth particularly within the last 5 years a result of which means they now need the right person to take the company to the next level.
The company does not have any internal sales / marketing roles and the current staff do not have this skill set. This role would suit someone who prefers having overall control and creative freedom with basically a blank page. The company has a large catchment area with only a handful of direct competitors so the potential for financial and professional success is high for the right person.
As a Business Development Manager you will:
- Develop and manage the overall sales and marketing strategy in all areas of the company.
- Increase the amount of new customers and retain the current ones.
- Develop new service products and potential new sectors for the company to move into.
- Identify new clients and develop existing relationships within the current domestic household client base but also business clients.
- Manage the companies ACT database software and use it to plan and implement sales, customer retention and development.
- Monitor the sales and marketing strategy, including working with external marketing companies.
- Understand the market place and their competitors.
- Develop the retail side of the company.
- Develop a Service Contract for customers.
- Improve development of current staff.
- Produce sales and marketing literature for the company website.
- Promote the company and its services to new clients through contacts or networking events.
- Monitor ROI and working within modest budgets.
The ideal Business Development Manager will hold the following skills and experiences:
- Previous experience within a service focused industry would be highly beneficial.
- Direct experience working for a company in a similar sector would also be of great benefit.
- Experience of working with ACT contact database or similar CRM software.
- Retail experience.
- Proven track record of increasing sales and some market knowledge of the gas and plumbing sector.
- Positive attitude.
- Confident.
- Time management skills.
- Highly motivated and results driven.
- Ability to work on your own or with a small team.
- Experienced and comfortable in making direct sales calls over the phone as well as personal visit to potential clients.
- Strong sense of the importance of customer service.
- Valid clean driving license.
You will be working the hours of 08.30 am - 5.00 pm, Monday to Friday.
