Position: Junior Software Tester
Location: Stockport, Cheshire

CDL is a leading supplier of software solutions to the UK insurance sector, providing our clients with the competitive edge in an increasingly aggressive marketplace.

We have a vacancy for a Junior Software Tester to join our existing team of Software Testers, responsible for testing of our application and specialist modules.

The role will involve assisting in the analysis of business requirements and functional specifications and the preparation of test conditions, regression testing of new software releases and investigation of faults on current releases. In addition, you will have the opportunity to work on the testing of our internet products and our next generation software, a brand new multi-tier distributed application in a J2EE environment.

Whilst prior testing experience isn`t necessary, we are looking for candidates who should have some knowledge of software testing processes and methodologies, proven communication skills and demonstrable accuracy and attention to detail. Above all else, you must have a real desire to succeed in a Software Testing role.

Scope of Job:
- Testing - To contribute in conjunction with other members of the team to ensure all software errors are identified and corrected.
- Quality Assurance - To ensure all aspects of work meet customer expectations and company quality standards with guidance from Senior Software Testers
- Communication - ensure a good level of teamwork, highlighting issues in good time and proactively suggesting solutions to resolve problems
- Support - Assist with resolution and reproduction of user software problems.
- Work Organisation - Effective prioritisation and meeting deadlines
- Individual Development - Take ownership of personal development.

Dimensions & Limits of Authority:
- Identification of incorrect programming work.
- To assist in the estimation of Software Testing days required

Qualifications:
- Minimum `A` level, preferably HNC or HND in a relevant subject or equivalent

Skills & Abilities:
- Knowledge of testing processes and methodologies
- Insurance industry experience advantageous
- Communication skills - experience of communicating with clients and line management.
- Demonstrable accuracy and attention to detail
