Manufacturing Process Engineer, Medical Devices, Oxford

We are searching for an experienced Engineer to join our client's team and to develop and improve existing product manufacturing processes in terms of repeatability and reliability determining cost (including yield) and output efficiency in outsourced manufacturing partners.

The Engineer will also develop new product manufacturing processes that will deliver high quality, volume production at lowest cost. This will involve working closely with the Design Team and outsourced partners to ensure the principles of volume manufacturing and process control are incorporated throughout the design and development phases.

The ideal candidate will have the following profile:

* Minimum 5 years of industry experience including a process engineering role
* Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Physics or related discipline or equivalent
* Experience of production process control and improvement
* "Hands-on" approach to understanding and solving engineering problems
* Experience in process characterisation
* Ability to manage and lead development projects
* Ability to establish and build relationship with external suppliers
* Self-starter, with high motivation.
* Flexible and keen to work in the rapidly changing environment of a small start-up company.
* Willing to travel.
* Experience of any of the following will be a definite advantage:
? Experience of process development and optimisation in medical, pharmaceutical or high volume technical manufacturing.
? Medical devices and optics
? Process excellence tools DoE, six sigma etc
? CAD/3D Solidworks
? Design transfer to manufacture
? Plastics manufacture and injection moulding
? Spectacle frame manufacturing
? Knowledge of ISO9001 and related quality standards and procedures, validation.
