Senior Engineer 55,000-60,000 Aberdeen

*Are you looking to undertake Design Engineering duties associated with the design,construction, certification, safe commissioning and operation of our company's equipment and procedures on and offshore by managing the time of others in the engineering team to achieve these duties*

DUTIES:
-Deputise for Engineering Manager when required
REPORTS TO: Engineering Manager

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Take an active role in building, leading and developing the Design/Engineering team
- Identify, review and select suitable procedures and techniques to solve engineering problems
- Plan, budget, organise direct and control tasks, people and resources as directed
- Be a key stakeholder in ensuring we are "ahead of the curve" in terms of engineering
capability
- Be subject expert in terms of design systems, processes and competences
- The development and preparation of equipment operation and project work packs to conform
with Company and Client operational procedures
- Development and implementation of project procedures for flexible installation.
- Management construction and commissioning of equipment, including:
- Design including structural modelling of equipment
- Development of project plans, budgets and procedures for efficient and effective control of
the project
- Procurement of materials
- Supervision of personnel, as necessary, including any subcontractors, during construction
phases and fulfilling the scope of work to time, cost and quality parameters.
- Development of associated operations manuals and maintenance schedules for the
equipment
- Certification of the equipment to current legislative standards

EDUCATION:
- Degree in Engineering Mechanical or Structural, supported by significant experience or
equivalent.

TRAINING:
- 2D and/or 3D drawing, sufficient to support development of a full set of construction drawings
and competence in applicable technologies (mechanics, fabrication, structures, welding,
hydraulics and electrics/electronics)
- Mathematical modelling including FEM and associated technologies
- Design methodologies, project management capabilities and technical authorship consistent with
developing high competency and quality equipment designs

EXPERIENCE:
- Professional Membership of a recognised engineering institution and/or the ability to satisfy the
requirements for Chartered Engineer
- Proven experience in driving high profile projects within tight budgets and timeframe
- Proven experience within structural steel design
- Proven experience in the control and organisation of 3rd party vendors
- Proven experience of working with 3rd party verification organisations (DNV etc)
- Ability to demonstrate an understanding of placement of equipment on a vessel deck
