This role is within the Communications team, and provides administration of the KTN web portal in addition to support for activities requiring web/online input and updating.
Duties Include:
* To support the KTN Membership Manager in the development of a broader communications offering with newsletters and incentives
* To support the KTN Membership Manager and work to ensure timely admin KTN WebPages. In particular this will include: events, articles, blogs and technical assistance for the KTN staff
* Add content as required and develop the KTN database
* To be able to recognise "hot topics" in relation to the KTN activities/societal challenges and select interesting topics for communicating via our web pages, social media and communicator. An advantageous skill is to be able to quickly decide when to forward technical content to a Materials KTN sector leader or create/upload a new article with broader (less technical) appeal.
* To provide admin support with the events and assist in event management
* Day to day administration of the web portal including:
- processing of new members and maintenance of the members' database
- removal of out of date and obsolete content from the site
- routine email and postal mailshots to KTN members
- preparation and tracking of management information
- acting as a central telephone contact for all web enquiries
* Updating and uploading content including video content to the website in support of activities as required including Starpack, events, news etc.
* Updating and uploading content to the Eventsforce website in support of activities including events, Starpack, WorldStar, education and training activities as required
* Support and development of social networking for Starpack and other activities including Starpack
* Support of other Institute PR activity, as required
Skills required:
* Highly developed computer skills and IT literacy. Experience in use of web content management software.
* Experience in the use of social media and an understanding of its relevance in the business environment
* Excellent communication skills and a good telephone manner
* Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills
* Excellent command of English, with proven writing, editorial and proofreading skills. Experience of writing for the web would be an advantage.
* Ability to work to deadlines, and with accuracy under pressure
* High attention to detail
* Flexible approach to working
* High degree of self-motivation
* Able to work on own initiative and as part of a small team
