Sales Development Officer - Employer Training
Location: Weybridge
Salary: 24,471.81
One of Surrey's largest providers of vocational training and further and higher education are looking to strengthen their business development team with 2 Sales Development Officers.
The College currently works with a range of employers to deliver an extensive range of training programmes. These include a Police Law and Community programme, NVQs and employer-based training, which have now developed into a real growth area for the College. They now have two posts available for a Sales Development Officer who will be able to offer expert advice and strategic input to develop employers' training processes.
As a Sales Development Officer, you will be responsible for identifying and developing new business training opportunities, tailored to employer need, as well as maintaining existing business to ensure that the Business Development Unit is the first choice for employer training. The Sales Development Officer will be able to engage with local businesses, charities, councils and other partners to develop strong relationships and support their community activities.

Employer Training / Sales Development Officer Duties:
Training and Development:
* Organise and deliver current and future full-cost training programmes to agreed targets, including the identification of new business opportunities
* Establish and maintain systems and procedures to monitor all provision against relevant departmental key performance indicators and targets
* Work closely with the management team and curriculum areas to ensure a responsive and flexible delivery, tailored to employer needs
* Monitor employer satisfaction and implement plans to address issues as needed
Finance and Operational:
* Develop and coordinate financial and operational plans for projects within the Business Development Unit and with any audit planning and implementation
* Ensure that each proposed training programme is fully costed before a commitment is made to undertake delivery
* Assist in the production of accurate and timely data/information reports as required
Promotional:
* Produce high quality and accurate tenders and bids for external funding
* Attend appropriate events and promote the college
Employer Training / Sales Development Officer Person Specification:
* Level 3 qualification and Level 2 or equivalent Numeracy and Literacy
* Experience in commercial B2B sales and/or training provider experience
* Experience in client retention, winning new business and meeting targets
* Experience with data management and producing reports
* Good commercial awareness, with confidence in negotiation
* Good financial awareness including costing and budget management skills
* Excellent communication, time-management and influencing skills
* Knowledge of funding initiatives would be advantageous
* Proficiency in the use of software packages (Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel)
* Full, clean driving licence and own transport
* Ability to work evenings and weekends when required and travel to the Ashford campus
