our client is looking for either an experienced Technical Specification Assistant from the food Industry or a recent graduate in food technology that can be trained into this position

The crux of the role is to ensure that food is produced to health legislation and to meet quality standards

Maintain technical systems including BRC, HACCP and Codes of Practice

Oversee ingredient information for all newly developed products and changes to existing products
Maintain product detail accuracy on the Technical system
Upload product details onto customer internet based systems
Managed external specwriter support services
Action product change authorisations
Create and maintain internal process control sheets in line with specifications
Create and maintain Technical Data systems to store accurate technical data
Act as an interface between technical and process functions and as a site link for customer enquiries on technical specifications
Create and maintain a nutrition database to assist process technologists and Technical/NPD function
Provide support for ad hoc Technical support as directed
Plan information to go out to external services against relevant product changes & launches
Candidate Profile:

Accuracy and attention to detail is vital and experience of working in environments that are based upon high detail/proof reading/accurate data transfer is essential
High level administration including and aptitude for working with systems is important and experience of dealing with customer focused databases would be useful
Evidence of planning workloads and prioritisation is important
Must be fully competent with pc packages
Previous experience in a Technical environment ideally in the food industry is desirable
Interpersonal skills and theability to influence others and manage through others is important
Able to communicate clearly, fluently and openly with all levels of the business both written and verbal.
Proactive, keen, eager with a hands-on approach and eager to make a difference.
