Our client: a major Financial Services business is looking for an Accounting Policy Director to head up its already strong existing team. As Head of Policy you will be responsible for the following: the development and maintenance of accounting policies and financial statements for IFRS to comply with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements; to provide advice on new products and structures; provide updates and briefings to Directors and senior management; deliver accounting updates to the whole of Finance; liaise and provide information to External Auditors; monitor all developments in accounting standards. You are likely to have the following background: qualified Accountant with extensive reporting and general financial control experience; excellent working knowledge and experience of accounting policy and its conversion; have strong and extensive knowledge of UK & US GAAP and IFRS; exemplary interpersonal skills with ability to and previous experience of gaining senior management buy in proven leadership ability in resolving issues and implementing initiatives; previous experience of working in a similarly senior accounting policy role. The successful individual should be highly motivated with a drive to succeed. This position has outstanding firm wide resources attached to it and will enable the successful candidate to map out their path to long-term objectives in a very short space of time.
