Structural Integrity Engineer

Our client's Air Division activities encompass the full lifecycle of product development ranging from the technical evaluation of new air platforms through to the support of existing in service fleets at mission and aircraft level. They are looking for proactive engineers to join their Structural Integrity team to be ideally based in Farnborough but possibilities exist to work out of Warton or Conningsby.

The Structural Integrity Engineer will be expected to -
Prepare independent advice on every aspect of structural integrity including Loads, Fatigue Clearances, Aero-elastics, Structural Dynamics etc for a wide range of military and commercial air vehicles.
Apply analytical and practical techniques to solve immediate and emerging structural problems.
Work in multidisciplinary teams.
Develop and maintain close working relationships with customers.
Maintain currency in structural airworthiness assessment tools and techniques.

The successful Structural Integrity Engineer will have the following skills, experience and knowledge -

Experience in some of the following
Air Vehicle Design Regulations and Philosophies
Strength Assessments
Fatigue and Fracture Assessments
Fatigue Testing of Structures and Components
Air Vehicle Structural Monitoring, Analysis and Assessment
Structural and Mechanical Assessments of Gearboxes, Rotor Systems, Flight Controls and Landing Gear
Material Analysis

Higher Degree or equivalent experience in a related discipline
Chartered Engineer status, equivalent experience or working towards Chartered Engineer status
Ability to think creatively and exercise sound independent judgement
Written and verbal presentation skills with the ability to present recommendations
