A critical SHE leadership role with one of Europe's top Petcare products manufacturers
This Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) Manager role is a key leadership position within our Sudbury plant involves directing and co-ordinating the development and implementation of SHE strategy to ensure we comply with market and regional business strategies.
Our business operates from 15 plants across eight European countries. Sudbury is the largest dry pet food factory in the group, employing more than 200 people, and is the home of Baker's, the number one dry pet food in the UK, as well as a several other major brands.
Reporting to the Factory Manager, the SHE Manager will be a key member of the Factory Leadership Team. Key responsibilities include:
supporting and advising on all aspects of SHE
using strong leadership skills to steer, maintain and improve our SHE management systems, including ISO14001/OHSAS18001 certifications
developing our already successful behaviour-based safety programmes, to help us further improve SHE performance.
Your strong background in SHE management will be supported by a recognised qualification - NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent and IEMA or higher - and significant experience managing SHE within a manufacturing environment. And if that's food manufacturing, so much the better. Your strong communication skills will enable you to advise and influence both technical and non-technical colleagues on compliance and to lead, develop and influence at all levels. Sound knowledge of standards and legislation will balance your clear experience of developing and sustaining systems and behaviours to embed a strong SHE culture.
