SE4556 Design Engineer (GRP/Construction)

Salary: To Circa £25k (DOE)
Position: Permanent
Location: South East London

A qualified Design Engineer is required by this reputable organisation to join their team in South East London.

The Design Engineer should be experienced in the Construction industry and hold the relevant qualifications relevant to their field of expertise. The Design Engineer will be taking responsibility for a project from beginning to implementation so it is essential you should be familiar with seeing a project through to completion. As well as estimating and pricing jobs for clients, there will be an element of Project Management where the Design Engineer will be on-site to ensure that the project is completed to a high standard. This will entail making sure that staff, equipment and materials are on site when required and that the project is capable of being completed on time and in budget.

Ideally the Design Engineer should have experience within GRP and structural design techniques applied across a wide variety of applications.

This is a very interesting position where the Design Engineer will take an active part in all aspects of projects and play a crucial role in the management of both client relationships and the work is completed to the highest standards. The Design Engineer should be willing to travel to various site locations in the UK and for occasional clients in Europe.

Job Requirements:

Taking initial client queries and able to price and estimate the job
Closing enquiries to bring the job in
Take ownership of the project from start to finish
Liaise closely with Production Team to ensure project is completed satisfactorily
Project Manage the job to ensure the right number of staff are on site to ensure completion
Ensure the right materials and equipment are on site
Must be hands on in the field and play an active role in site work
Be capable of working on a wide variety of projects

Key Personal Requirements:
Relevant Design Engineering qualification in Construction Design
Multi-tasker
Excellent relationship builder
Good negotiation skills
Confident and a strong influencer - good leadership skills
Excellent organisational skills
Team Player
