Barclays
Collections/Debt Recovery Advisor
Find the best way forward for everyone.
Being a Barclays Collections Advisor is about listening as much as it's about talking. You'll contact customers whose accounts have fallen into arrears, get to know and understand their situation, and arrange repayment terms that protect their interests as well as ours, so that customers ultimately remember the answers you provided and not the problems they were in. It's a great opportunity to work for an industry leader, enjoy uncapped bonus potential, and take advantage of some fantastic employee benefits and a comprehensive training and induction programme for new starters.
What you'll give our customers as a Collections Advisor
You'll manage inbound and outbound calls with customers in arrears and negotiate debt repayment terms that satisfy everyone involved. We'll count on you to use empathy and strong negotiation skills to find a way forward from potentially complex financial and emotional circumstances.
What you'll get in return
Help our customers get the best that Barclays has to offer, and you'll get the same in return. We're not just talking about valuable benefits like great bonus potential, private healthcare, childcare savings, and a huge range of employee discounts. You'll also enjoy a city centre location, flexible benefits, the opportunity to work in an expanding department, and a competitive pension package.
What you'll need as a Collections Advisor
The success of everyone at Barclays is measured by their ability to put our customers at the centre of their day. To do that in this role, you'll need call centre experience, superb interpersonal and negotiation skills, and an excellent telephone manner. You'll also need the ability to quickly build rapport with customers and gain their trust, as well as resilience, a cool head, and the ability to come up with simple solutions to complex financial problems.
Working hours:
For this position we have rotating shift pattern between 8 am and 9 pm from Monday to Friday and 8 am to 6 pm Saturday and Sunday, 35 hours per week
We'll judge you on your ability and nothing else.
