The client is a well established and successful manufacturing business supplying specialist parts to the aerospace industry and specifically for airframe and engine manufacturers and system integrators such as Rolls Royce, Bombardier Aerospace and BAE Systems.

Private equity owned it has a turnover c15m, in excess of 200 employees and a growing international presence with lots of new business opportunities in the pipeline. Operating from a purpose built, well equipped manufacturing and assembly facility it has had significant investment in metal forming and laser cutting technology. The business has significant potential to grow and there is a high quality team in place. The key challenge is to take this existing successful business onto a higher level through the introduction and further development of manufacturing processes using world class techniques and through effective leadership, improved process control, capacity planning and operating efficiency, significant growth can be achieved.

A high quality individual with gravitas and proven business leadership skills is required. The successful candidate is likely to be graduate qualified probably in an engineering discipline and with a proven record of success in operations and P&L general management in a precision batch-manufacturing environment. Your early career will have been formed in a world class manufacturing group and you will have developed real experience of culture change and of leading a highly skilled and experienced team into a more effective operating environment. Experience in the aerospace sector is ideally required and you will now be at Managing Director/ General Manager level. Of prime importance is your ability to lead and drive change into a business which has great potential and you will be comfortable working in a hands-on way ensuring that world class service levels are delivered to a growing international, demanding customer base.
