Drive systems development for one of the UK's largest and most profitable house builders as a Business Systems Analyst

Translating and fulfilling business system needs and playing a central role in the delivery of systems solutions and information is at the core of this Business Systems Analyst role. Persimmon is one of the UK's largest and most profitable house builders, with an annual turnover of c. 1,500m and profit of c. 148m. Our York-based Group IT function supports 24 regional businesses in addition to our manufacturing operations.

Main systems are based on COINS, an integrated, industry leading system developed especially for the construction sector. Our on-going investment in IT includes a major review and upgrade to COINS, including new, web-based services for all users. Further exciting initiatives include important internet based application and the deployment of those systems to all our c.400 development sites.

Reporting to the Business Systems Manager, your key tasks as a Business Systems Analyst will be to:

* undertake a thorough a review of business systems needs and opportunities for automation
* specify the requirements for new systems or enhancements to existing systems
* configure the COINS reporting/data extract tools to generate new reports for the business
* assist with testing
* prepare system documentation to accompany the implementation of systems and support the training team
* oversee the implementation of business systems projects.

As a Business Systems professional, you'll have a proven track record in implementing package or bespoke business systems, having worked with an integrated software package. Ideally, you'll also have a sound appreciation of the construction sector and familiarity with COINS. Therefore your industry knowledge of the construction and manufacturing sectors in the UK is essential. Your basic grasp of financial and costing systems will match your knowledge of report-writing packages to deliver information. For such a wide-ranging role, technically and geographically, you'll need excellent, all-round communication skills with the flexibility and willingness to work away from home, backed by a clean driving licence.
