THE ROLE

As a result of increasing work, a new role has arisen for a tax assistant within a group which advises clients across a wide spectrum of sectors, from private individuals (and, in particular, entrepreneurs) to public companies.

The team works closely with specialists in other groups to provide a seamless service to help its clients plan and structure acquisitions, disposals, joint ventures and investment funds, more often than not with an international flavour.

The group also advises clients in relation to tax enquiries and investigations, employment tax issues and structuring the affairs of non-UK domiciled individuals in a tax efficient manner. In particular:

Corporate Tax
Real Estate Tax
Tax Investigations
Non - UK Domiciled Individuals and/or Non - UK Resident Individuals


Tasks and Responsibilities of the Role

Assisting the Head of Tax with:

tax advice to clients of the firm;
supporting the junior member of the team;
taking a proactive approach to developing the tax client base;
contributing to the development of a "tax nugget" know-how system


Experience Required
PQE - 3 to 5 years qualified
Strong academics and, preferably, Chartered Tax Advisor qualification or LLM (Tax).
Work experience in corporate tax, including M&A work (Tax Deeds and Tax Warranties) (essential)
Work experience in Property Tax (including SDLT) (preferred)
Work experience in Offshore Tax - Non UK Domiciled / Offshore Companies (advantage)


Skills required
Team player with a sense of humour
Capable of critical analysis and pro-active advice
Excellent communication and inter-personal skills


This is a newly created role which has arisen as a result of a constant flow of work coming in both via internal referrals and from direct clients and offers an opportunity to be exposed to an exciting and ever changing range of work.
