Production Support Manager required for a leading FTSE 100 IT Outsourcing Firm. Due to expansion, we are looking to
recruit 1 X Production Support Manager to join our growing IT Services division. The successful Production Support
Manager The Production Support Manager will be accountable for the day to day support of infrastructure systems, managing
and developing a regional team of circa 20 system engineers covering areas such as servers, virtualisation, backups &
storage. This is a vital role operating as part of a larger UK and Offshore Infrastructure team supporting IT solutions
and systems across the organisation within a complex and distributed technical environment. The Production Support
Manager will drive infrastructure improvement, standards, efficiency and stability whilst contributing to organisational
policy regarding quality standards and strategic planning.
Responsibilities
Responsible for the support of production infrastructure and continued improvement of operational support processes. The
post holder will be an experienced IT Manager with a background of technical expertise coupled with an understanding of
business and management principles.
Responsibilities include:
* Define and develop processes and controls to improve operational support
* Support of IT services in line with agreed IT budgets
* Effective management of the 3rd party supplier relationships ensuring service levels and cost control targets are met
* Establish Service Level Agreements (SLA's) for each component ofthe IT services and agree Service Key Performance
Indicators (KPI's)
* ensure IT problems/issues are logged, tracked and resolved in a timely manor
* Identify and recommend / implement training for IT staff
* Assist in planning, developing and implementing the IT budget, obtaining competitive prices from suppliers, ensuring
cost effectiveness
* Scheduling maintenance for production systems
* Ensuring the smooth running of all IT systems
* Developing acceptance criteria for handover of systems into production support
* Managing support coverage across shared services and multiple customers
Experience / Qualifications
* A proven track record of delivering high quality technical and operational support services to a variable and demanding
customer base
* Demonstrable experience of understanding, producing and creating reports for colleagues / management / customers
* Experience in all aspects of team management, including discipline and the maintenance of standards
* Good project management experience with a proven history of delivering successful projects
* IT based degree or similar in certifications
* Significant expertise of working within IT services
* Has knowledge of IT standards and codes of conduct
