My client is a very successful 1st tier manufacturer of components for the major automotive OEM's. They are currently looking to recruit an experienced Engineering Manager who brings a proven track record of experience with them.
Reporting to:Plant Manager - UK Operations: -
Role:
* Capability to introduce new products including installation of equipment and
validation of processes
* Design, specification and purchase of all new equipment and tooling
* Results driven
* Management of all engineering (plant maintenance and project engineering)
including graduates program and Tool Room
* Control of capital requisitions and expenditure budgets
* Understanding of the need to measure and report on improvements through KPI's
* Knowledge and understanding of environmental and health & safety issues on
guarding and extraction of rubber etc and current applicable legislation.
* Provide and introduce technical solutions to customer concerns, as well as design
and introduction of processes for new products during development and
pre-production stages
* Organisation and sourcing of appropriate engineering capability
* Resolve engineering and production concerns in a timely and cost effective
manner
Essential Experience: -
* A 'hands on' approach and technically highly competent
* Must have confident personality with stature and presence to hold his/her own in a
not always forgiving operational environment
* Proven track record in Engineering Management.
* Experienced in automotive industry preferred
* Experience of working on projects with major motor manufacturer in Europe and
global.
. Experience of managing maintenance activities and introducing a TPM system.
* Be highly capable of managing their team and ensuring he/she is able to
command total commitment to the Company
* Design FMEA
* Problem solving techniques e.g Global 8D
Preferred Experience: -
* Ability to work with Business Development to formulate business strategies
Qualifications: -
* Good supporting qualifications in Mechanical Engineering or Materials
Technology?
* IT literate - Microsoft packages, CAD packages and Lotus notes.
