PURPOSE OF THE JOB
*To receive customer enquiries, produce quotations as necessary and to assist other members of the sales department to operate as efficiently as possible.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES / ACCOUNTABILITIES
*To check all customer enquiries both technically and commercially, with due regard to pricing and delivery requirements.
*To prepare and send formal quotations by post, fax or telephone.
*To ensure that all written correspondence reflects the high quality and standards of the Company.
*To carry out contract review procedure on any relevant orders or quotations and to maintain appropriate records and to identify to order processors any special requirement necessary to satisfy order execution.
*To maintain a database of all quotations in order to enable speedy access of information.
*To ensure that all customer requests are dealt with speedily and efficiently.
*To liaise with the Sales Support Manager and Sales Director to suggest any changes or improvements which may enhance efficiency or save costs.
*To operate in a manner beneficial to the objectives of Yokogawa, coincident with the requirements of a key employee
PERSON SPECIFICATION / LIMITS OF AUTHORITY
*Confident and assertive individual with a strong customer focus and the ability to work on own initiative.
*Professional and responsive approach, to gain credibility through integrity, technical knowledge and personality
*Authorisation for minor proposals, within pre-determined guidelines
EDUCATION / TRAINING / QUALIFICATIONS
Essential :
*Formal technical education in a related discipline.
*Recognised formal qualification in an engineering or process related subject
Desirable :
*Degree in an engineering or process related discipline.
*Training in sales / marketing / negotiation
*Further qualification in business administration or sales/marketing
EXPERIENCE
Essential :
*Minimum of 3 years experience in the process control industry.
*Proven track record in administration of instrumentation services.
*Teamwork, as part of a structured team in the preparation of proposals for and the selling of instrumentation products.
Desirable :
*Understanding of process installations
*Sales / marketing support for high technology instrumentation equipment
