A Senior Commercial Manager is required to provide support to the development of new business and the successful execution of the contracted workload. The Senior Commercial Manager will be working with proposals directors to compile client commercial proposals for new business opportunities and contract variations. You will need to have proven experience in commercial management and contracting.

Specific Job Description

1.Working with Proposals Directors and other members of the Bid or Project Teams to compile Client commercial proposals for new business opportunities and contract variations that address the requirements and expectations of the Client and the Company in a manner that allows our client to optimise its chances of success.
2.To liaise with corporate finance staff, legal personnel, risk management, export compliance, compliance, HSEQ and BDO to explain the operational and commercial requirement in order to obtain their expert advice. To reflect their advice effectively and competitively in any proposal and provide feedback to the Bid / Project Teams where necessary to ensure that the advice is fully reflected in the Client proposal and the underlying agreements.
3.To identify the operational and schedule risks and potential mitigations and work with the Risk Manager to determine appropriate risk funding requirements.
4.To work with the Law Department and Risk Manager to identify the commercial risks arising from the proposed contract to agree appropriate mitigations and or contract qualifications and to assess any required bid funding. In discussion with the lawyer, to ensure that all qualifications are reflected effectively in the Client submission.
5.To work with the Estimator to ensure that the pricing model fully reflects the Commercial Proposal and its underlying assumptions.
6.To establish effective working relationships with Client commercial personnel to achieve an effective understanding of the Client's requirements, drivers and expectations and to both shape the Client's expectations to reflect our clients approach and ensure that the Bid / Project Teams understand the Client position.
7.To perform a central role in Client negotiations during the pre and post-tender phases and to provide reliable and timely advice to the Project Managers during project implementation.
8.To review, advise on and respond to draft Contracts and to ensure that the final contract is acceptable to the Company prior to acceptance. To engage fully and in a timely manner with the Law Department in this capacity.
9.To brief Project Controls and Projects Accountants on the requirements of all new Contracts and Contract Amendments. To liaise closely with Project Accountants to ensure complete and accurate billing and to use the relationships with the Client to assist in resolving payment delays.
10.To provide advice to the Project Manager on operational issues / disputes and to seek all necessary support from the Law Department or Senior Management to assist in that process.
11.To prepare internal briefing / approval paperwork and to present proposals to Senior Management as necessary.
12.To maintain familiarity and compliance with the company's Authority Matrix and Code of Business Conduct.
