Mechanical Engineer

£££ Excellent Salary

I am currently looking to recruit a Mechanical Engineer for my Bespoke Machine Manufacturing client who are experiencing substantial growth. The company in question work within a variety of industry sectors, supplying to the food, drink, pharmaceutical, and other heavier industries.

The role of Mechanical Engineer is required to provide specialist assistance in the design and build of packaging machinery, ensuring overall customer satisfaction. The key duties and responsibilities of the Engineering position are to:
- Provide mechanical engineering expertise from concept through to commissioning.
- Provide innovative engineering solutions that will meet customer requirements.
- Take responsibility for writing mechanical design specifications.
- Write up design test specifications.
- Supervise the mechanical function on machine builds.
- Take responsibility for the production of mechanical documentation.
- Take responsibility for the bill of materials and choice of components.
- Provide any necessary customer support (can include site visits and help with installation and commissioning).
- With other colleagues, supervise the testing of machines.

The successful candidate for the position of Mechanical Engineer will have the following skills, or be able to provide evidence of the necessary expertise:
- Qualified to degree level in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics.
- Previous knowledge of machine manufacturing for the food, drink, pharma, or other suitable industry.
- Proven experience of providing innovative engineering solutions.
- Able to write up design and test specifications.
- Experience of machine building, installing, and commissioning.
- Experience of managing others.
- Working knowledge of bill of materials and mechanical documentation.
- Used to dealing with customers face to face.
- Prepared to travel to customers' premises, whether in the UK or overseas.

The position of Mechanical Engineer is based in the West Midlands area, and is easily commutable from Birmingham, Redditch, Leamington Spa, Coventry, Rugby, Northampton, Sutton Coldfield, Leicester, Nuneaton, and Solihull.
