Head of Governance & Strategy is a newly created job, based in Teesside, and working with an expanding Group.
This opportunity has arisen following an internal restructure, and at it's heart oversees the Group's strategic and
corporate planning processes, providing assurance to the Group that they have robust systems of governance and internal
control.
The role will also act as assistant company secretary, taking the lead on co-regulation and ensuring that this is fully
integrated into the organisation's governance framework.
The ideal candidate will be a senior manager who has previous experience of leading organisational and cultural change
and who will ensure delivery of the risk management strategy. Someone who will bring cohesion to current Group wide
strategies whilst ensuring compliance to key regulatory standards.
The post holder will be responsible through the Director of Finance and Corporate Services for providing the Group's
parent, operational and subsidiary boards with assurance that the Group has a robust system of governance and internal
control and complies fully with statutory and regulatory requirements.
In their capacity as assistant company secretary, they will take the lead on co-regulation and ensure that this is fully
integrated into the organisation's governance framework.
The post holder will oversee the Group's strategic and corporate planning processes, lead on performance management and
will ensure delivery of the risk management strategy.
The main duties will include:
Leading the governance function and ensuring that a suitable frameworkis in place to ensure the Group complies with all
statutory and regulatory standards, with particular responsibility for co-regulation and the HCA's regulatory standards;
Supporting the board members in developing and delivering an annual work plan for the Group's boards and committees,
promoting excellence in governance throughout;
Leading the strategic and corporate planning process to ensure that the Group delivers against its vision and values.
Promoting the achievement of excellent performance and service delivery across the Group;
Providing overall assurance to the Audit and Risk Committee on the management of the Group's strategic and operational
risks,
Ensuring that the internal audit programme is effective and robust and continues to provide assurance to the Group's
boards and committees, its regulators and external audit provider.
They will hold proven successful senior management experience in a relevant role, in a complex regulated organisation and
be educated to degree level or equivalent, ideally with a professional or business qualification relevant to the role
requirements. They should possess significant knowledge and experience of a regulatory landscape.
