Are you an experienced Shipping / Logistics Coordinator with a proven track record in controlling UK and international
freight movements? If so, this is a great opportunity to work for a vibrant and growing aerospace equipment manufacturer
that is currently developing a number of exciting new products.
As Shipping / Logistics Coordinator you will join our client on an initial 3 month contract. The role will be based out
of their purpose built head office situated between Bedford and Milton Keynes. Utilising third party carriers you will be
responsible for planning and managing the movements of goods ensuring delivery deadlines are met and customer
expectations are managed. You will prepare all shipping paperwork including import/export documentation. You will also be
responsible for expediting inbound deliveries from suppliers and booking in goods using the in-house MRP system.
Key to your success will be your ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and to liaise effectively with
customers and suppliers. You will be the main point of contact for organising specialist transport requirements and
providing shipment updates/progress reports. You will also monitor carrier performance ensuring deliveries reach their
end destination safely and on time. Naturally you will be an excellent problem solver, have a keen eye for detail and be
IT literate in Microsoft Word & Excel.
This role requires an awareness of external influences such as international regulations, legislation, fuel costs and
environmental pressures. You should be willing to develop an understanding of the products and of project targets and
deadlines. Ideally, you will have at previous experience in an aerospace or similar manufacturing environment.
You will be eligible to participate in our client's bonus scheme and other benefits apply. There is also the potential
for the right candidate to be made permanent.
Whilst your contract hours will be to work a 37.5 hour week you may be required to extend hours occasionally when
required.
