VB .NET Developer/OSS/Mobile Telecoms/Application Development/VB/.NET

A fantastic opportunity has come up for a VB .NET Developer to work for a leading mobile telecoms company in Berkshire to be responsible for application development in the OSS teams responsible for development of tools such as Transmission planning tool, radio planning tool, network inventory tool.

The VB .NET Developer must have experience in designing, developing and implementing OSS solutions using VBA/.NET/MS Access. Experience of working on OSS tools for transmission design, radio design, transmission planning and radio planning is also essential.

As a VB .NET Developer, your responsibilities will include:
-Produce, review and validate solution design documentation.
-Implement solutions designs using the chosen technologies
-Understand and advise on the technical architecture of specific applications.
-Continually enhance understanding and knowledge of software applications and processes used on a daily basis.
-Create test plans, conduct testing and document results of testing of a delivered system. In particular conduct unit testing of a development piece.
-Provide technical advice and support to testing teams in a support capacity.
-Provide after hours support as required.
-Communicate and consult with operational and technical areas of the business.
-Ensure impacts and system changes are recorded and communicated effectively utilising company standards, procedures and policies.
-Support the release procedure of new functionalities from a development environment to other environments.
-Where configurable applications are installed, responsible for re-configuration and testing systems to satisfy revised functional requirements.
-Contribute to the production of project plans through identification of activities, tasks and milestones required to achieve successful systems implementation.

The VB .NET Developer MUST have the following key skills:
-Understanding of principals associated with telecommunications OSS tools
-Experience of Telecommunications Engineering processes and applications
-MS-Word/Excel/Outlook, Terminal Emulator, VBA, .NET, MS SQL server experience
-Worked on Full Life cycle experience including Systems Analysis, Design, Build, Test & Implementation
