Our client is a leading law firm with a distinctive approach to their business. They have been ranked in the Sunday Times
100 Best Companies to Work For survey for their strong management team and its commitment to the personal and

They are now looking to hire a Head Legal Cashier, who reports into the Financial Controller. You will supervise and
manage the day to day operations of the client ledgers and the client ledger team. The role also supervises and controls
the day to day processing of various office ledgers, such as staff expenses.
Responsibilities include:
Ensure the department and firm comply with relevant legislation including SARs and the firm's own policies and
procedures.
Supervise and engage in the day-to-day client account transactions including making and posting payments and receipts,
daily bank reconciliations, interest allocation and opening of client accounts.
Liaise with the firm's bank on all client account matters. Handle and resolve all relevant supplier and business queries.
Liaise with the firm's auditors and provide all data for the SAR audit. Complete and file all associated SAR
documentation and reports.
Supervise, support and control the day-to-day office processing functions (primarily accounts payable and staff expenses)
and ensure transactions are posted and settled promptly and correctly.
Ensure VAT is correctly accounted for and key reconciliations performed. Suggest and implement changes and improvements
where appropriate.
Supervise and review workloads and output of the team. Conduct performance management, including annual and interim
appraisals. Motivate and develop the team and handle and resolve all basic team issues.
Candidate Profile
You will have supervisory experience of a legal cashiering team within a law firm environment. Experience of staff
appraisals and development.
Full and up to date knowledge of the Solicitors' Accounts Rules and VAT requirements.
ILCA qualification will be a bonus.
