Embedded Software Engineer C, C++

Our client is the global leader in the manufacture and supply of electronic control solutions within the power generation
industry. With a global reputation which has been built on the high quality and reliability of their products. Currently
employing over 120 employees and with continuous growth within the company we are now looking to recruit an experienced
C/C++ Embedded Software Engineer to join its large product design team.

Duties to include
* To assess feasibility and assist in development of product software specifications, where required.
* Development and testing of software within the project framework, to the required project plan and deadlines.
* Ability to design and add features to embedded software, including Real-time operating systems (RTOS), using higher
level language (C / C++) in an ARM/Cortex environment.
* Development of production test code with Production Engineering is required.
* Liaison with all relevant parties, including Sales, Production, QA etc., in order to ensure all requirements are fully
met.
* Maintenance of Software Quality procedures

Essential experience/skill and knowledge
* A degree in Software / Computer Engineering or equivalent.
* Excellent PC skills, including use of PC-based software development tools
* Self-motivated and has a capability for working to a high level of detail and accuracy, with an excellent working
knowledge of modern microprocessor and micro controller designs.
* Must be able to demonstrate relevant skills with typically 3-4 years experience in a similar role.
* Must be a good team player and used to working as part of a project team.
* Capable of accepting and delivering to project deadlines.
* Fully conversant with ISO 9001 QA requirements, as well as conversant with design rule checking of code, including
MISRA.
* Positive approach to all aspects of work.
* Excellent microprocessor and analogue interface software design skills.

Useful experience/skills and knowledge
* A working knowledge of power electrics / electronics would be an advantage.
* Knowledge of communication technologies, including 232, 485, USB, Ethernet etc, would be useful, but not essential.
* Some experience in Industry being an advantage, but not absolutely necessary.
