Job Title: Quality Engineer

Introduction:
My client is one of the UK's leading support services companies, they deliver many key services including design, build,
manage, operate and maintaining assets, dealing with companies both in the UK and overseas, supplying customers in a wide
variety of industry sectors including Defence, Marine, Naval, MoD, Nuclear, Communications, Energy and Transportation.
They now require a Quality Engineer at their site in Whetstone, Leicester.

This presents itself as an ideal opportunity to join an established company, and although not essential, could be well
suited for a person who has previously served in the armed forces i.e. Army, Royal Navy or Royal Air Force (RAF), or who
has worked within a similar position.

Responsibilities:
- Support and assessment of company bids & tenders.
- Preparation, approval and monitoring of project Quality and Inspection plans.
- Support and participation in the company audit programme.
- Compilation and maintenance of project quality documents.
- Work closely with all departments to support project and business needs.
- Assistance in the development of Project Realisation Plans.
- Identify, Interpret & communicate customer requirements.
- Ensure quality is embedded within component designs and supporting specifications.
- Ensure that purchase orders contain the correct quality requirements and applicable specifications.
- Compilation and review of final documentation packs to be handed to customers. Support the maintenance of lifetime
records and secure databases.
- Ensure that Health, Safety and Environmental requirements are followed and/or addressed by the appropriate personnel &
identified in any project planning.
- Raising, reviewing & approving component Certificates of Conformance.
- Support the development of quality within the business. Raising, reviewing and have an input into Non-conformance
Reports.

Applicant Requirements:
- Successful candidates will be pro-active and have a structured and systematic approach to work.
- ONC, HNC, NVQ Level 3 qualification.
- Possess excellent communication skills.
- Experience in Quality Engineering.
- Experience in auditing (internal and supplier)
- A background in mechanical and/or electrical engineering.
- Knowledge and experience of Quality Management Systems (ISO9001, AS9100, etc.)
- Computer literate and familiar with Microsoft packages.
- A good knowledge of quality tools and problem solving techniques (pareto, FMEA, 5 why's, APQP, PPAP, etc.)
- Workload management skills.
- Experience in Aerospace and Defence is desirable but not essential.
- Membership with a recognised industry institute (e.g. CQI) is desirable but not essential.
