Snr. C#.NET Software Engineer Global Mkt Leader in Finance Risk

(£45K - £55K Base Salary + 25 days holiday and extensive Big Company Benefits)

Client is a Fortune 500 software vendor ranked No.1 globally for Financial Services Middle and Back Office risk/compliance solutions employing 20,000 people worldwide. The firm enjoys market leadership status and is currently starting the build stage of an Enterprise suite of Financial Crime / Fraud Management and Anti-Terrorism applications to be used by internationally renowned financial institutions.

The particular business unit responsible for this software is small and provides a niche intimate team environment but with the kudos of being a huge company. You therefore won't be just a number but a valued member of the team and at the coal face of building next generation Enterprise financial crime software.

The successful candidate must have a thorough and proper understanding of the software development process . You must be well versed Software Best Practices :-

- Code Reviews, Refactoring, Unit Testing, Source Control, Continuous Integration, Automated Testing, Stakeholder Demonstrations etc.

Ideally the client is looking for a candidate who finished their degree and perhaps did their dissertation in Java/C++ and secured their first position working for a major software vendor developing server side n-tier applications in ideally C# or C++/Java. This position will see you at the cutting edge of C#.NET v4. The team uses Java and C++ but the new architecture is predominantly .NETv4.

It is expected that you have a BSc in Software Engineering or Computer Science or a technical discipline and have c. 3 years commercial experience gained working in an Enterprise Commercial software environment.

This opportunity will see you at the cutting edge of development working with incredibly complex and difficult business problems working as part of a SCRUM team working with .NETv4, Silverlight, C#, MS SQL Server 2008, XML, XSLT, SQL, n-Tier Architectures. You will also be involved in using algorithms (Time-Distance Analysis, Predictive Analytics, Rules Based Scenario Testing and Soundex)
You get to be developing Real-Time fraud detection systems which have huge amounts of concurrency requiring you to integrate with Windows App Fabric (Data Caching).

Once you have started you will undergo induction and training and be partnered with a mentor whilst you learn their unique process and architectures. The company has a generous training budget for the fully committed, however serious on the job training is done but taking structured time out to sit down and go through relevent design and architecture. The team also offers longer term career advancement in the SRUM teams.

The position is in Wokingham (Berkshire) and on offer is a base salary ranging from £35,000 - £50,000 - £55,000 for someone exceptional + 25 days holiday, 10% Pension, PHI, PPP and a host of other big company benefits.
