My client is a well respected 1st tier manufacturer of components for the major automotive OEM's. They are looking for a
highly committed and professional Project Manager who will plan, execute, and finalise projects according to strict
deadlines and within budget to the extent of full satisfaction of all stake holders. This includes acquiring resources
and coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants and suppliers in order to deliver
projects according to plan. The Project Manager will also define the project's objectives, access all associated risk and
oversee quality control throughout its life cycle. He will be expected to lead the team, manage all risk and report it to
senior manager as and when necessary. The role will involve frequent travel to designated customers.

Responsibilities: -
1. Direct and manage project development from beginning to end.
2. Define project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in
collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
3. Develop full-scale project plans and associated communications documents.
4. Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders
in a timely and clear fashion.
5. Liaise with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis.
6. Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals.
7. Draft and submit budget proposals, and recommend subsequent budget
changes where necessary.
8. Where required, negotiate with other department managers for the acquisition or
required personnel from within the company.
9. Determine and assess need for additional resources and follow-up for
appropriate recruitments if necessary during project cycle.
10. Set and continually manage project expectations with team members and other
stakeholders.
11. Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel.
12. Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team to optimise
resource.
13. Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path.
14. Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools.
15. Track project milestones and deliverables and follow gateway signoff procedure
16. Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation,
and presentations in time for all stake holders.
17. Determine the frequency and content of status reports from the project team,
analyze results, and troubleshoot problem areas.
18. Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and
devise contingency plans.
19. Define project success criteria and disseminate them to involved parties
throughout project life cycle.
20. Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise project team members and contractors,
and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned
work.
21. Build, develop, and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the
project.
22. Conduct project post mortems and create a recommendations report in order to
identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.
23. Develop best practices and tools for project execution and management.

Position Requirements: -
1. Good supporting qualifications in Engineering.
2. Proven experience in a project management capacity, including all aspects of
process development and executionand have exposure to all OEM's and Tier one
within the Automotive industry.
3. Strong familiarity with project management software, such as MS Project & MS
office.
4. Experience in ERP database and automotive customer web portals
5. Must have experience in automotive sector from prototyping to production stage of
project life cycle.
6. Demonstrated experience in Human Resources in a unionised workforce
atmosphere.
7. Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative
environment is essential.
8. Can conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and
problem-solving capabilities.
9. Reacts to project adjustments and alterations promptly and efficiently to
overcome resource constraint.
10. Flexible during times of change to achieve all project deliverables QCD.
11. Must have strong knowledge & experience of ISO core tools; APQP, MSA, PPAP,
FMEA and SPC.
12. Ability to read communication styles of team members and contractors who
come from a broad spectrum of disciplines.
13. He must not only be Persuasive, encouraging, and motivating but also have
ability to gain cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including upper
management, clients, and other departments within and outside organisation.
14. Ability to defuse tension among project team, should it arise to keep team spirit
alive all time.
15. Must respect quality system laid down by the management and bring project to
successful completion to meet QCD of the product.
16. Must have strong written and oral communication skills to tackle customer,
supplier and interdepartmental and team meetings.
17. Must be able to contribute in product costing, tool, fixture and capital expenditure
estimation.
18. Must be able to learn, understand, and apply new technologies for continuous
improvement of the product and process & design robustness to gain
competitive advantage over competitors.
19. Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment is
crucial.

Other requirements: -
1. Requirement to ensure project deadlines are met in a timely manner which may
require working the hours additional to ensure these are met.
2. Hands on approach are essential to deliver the resuls required.
3. Must have excellent communication skills with both internal and external
stakeholders.
4. Must have held a similar role in automotive industry.
5. Should have exposure to automotive assembly process.
6. Must have worked in an industry with TS 16949 & ISO 14000 environment.
7. Must have experience in improvement projects using lean tool box.
8. Must have full clean UK driving licence as there will be some UK travel.
